ATECO EQUIPMENT – 50 YEARS BEHIND THE WHEEL

 

The ATECO group of companies has it’s origin in the establishment of ATECO Pty Limited, which commenced trading in March 1959 from premises in George Street, Sydney. Its main business was the marketing of tractor attachments to the construction, forest and rural industries. The actual name ATECO being an acronym for Allied Tractor Equipment Company. An early involvement for ATECO was to provide towing and recovery equipment for heavy vehicles in the Australian Defence Forces. The ADF connection still exists.

Today Ateco Equipment is a wholesaler, distributor and exporter of market leading products across a range of industries. Initially specialising in 4WD and off-road products, Ateco Equipment has broadened its product range to now include other automotive accessories, industrial products and utility tools.

Ateco Equipment is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ateco Automotive, a leading importer of some of the world’s most prestigious motor vehicles. While Ateco Automotive may not be a name you’re familiar with, you will be familiar with Maserati, LDV, Renault and Ram Trucks. Which are the prestige automotive marques it distributes in Australia. For more than a decade, this privately owned company has earned a highly regarded reputation in the prestige automotive market.

Today it is established as Australia’s most dynamic and fastest growing automotive importer. Ateco Automotive has also been in New Zealand, since 2001. Much of Ateco’s success can be attributed to the single-minded philosophy of representing only market leading products and brands.

And so it is with Ateco Equipment – it too has a very single-minded focus on its business concentrating only on the market leaders in any product category it represents. In some cases its products are unique. This philosophy helped the business grow and expand into a national distribution network for leading manufacturers from across the globe.

Today the products carried by Ateco Equipment encompasses it’s aftermarket off-road accessories plus a range of industrial products for heavy-duty vehicles. Among Ateco Equipment’s stable of brands are Warn winches, the world standard in winches for 4WD and industrial applications. The popular Ridepro® Suspension System, specifically for 4 Wheel drive vehicles, is designed by Ateco Equipment here in Australia and is now being exported to Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia, South America and the United States. Highly regarded Telma Brake Retarders, Supersprings Suspension Stabilizers, Airflow Snorkels and Sanko Spare Wheel Carriers are all part of the Ateco Equipment product line-up.
