Warn, the maker of the world's leading automotive winches, has launched a wireless operating system for its winches that enables them to be operated up to 25 metres away from the winch, providing new levels of both safety and ease of use.
Warn, which is imported into Australia by Ateco Equipment, the world's largest distributor of Warn products outside the USA, has also made this new technology as easily accessible as it is to operate. The new wireless system will work with all existing Warn winches with a five wire electrical system, making it fully reto-fitable for most existing owners, while a recommended retail price of just $247.00 ensures that it is also highly affordable.
As with all Warn products, the Warn Winch Wireless unit is built tough for a long, durable life. The receiver unit, which attaches to the winch, is fully weather and water proof and houses a hidden internal aerial for extreme resistance to damage. The two-way control unit has been designed with tough operating conditions in mind, with a shape and buttons designed to held and used by operators wearing working gloves. The control unit not only issues instructions to the winch, with it receiving information from the winch to enable bright LEDs to provide operator feedback on what the winch is doing, as well as warning of low battery power. The hand unit automatically turns off to conserve batteries if unused for more than five minutes.
"The Wireless Warn Winch system lifts both safety and ease of use," says Bruce Poole, National Sales Manager of Ateco Equipment. "Without the limiting factor of plug-in controls, the operator can chose a place to stand that is both safer by being further away from the vehicle and not hampered by the mud, water, rocks or dust that are usually present when a Warn Winch is called into duty. With the unit retro-fitable, there is no need to buy a new winch to gain these useful benefits and, with an RRP of just $247 these advantages are also highly affordable."
